This speak will examine the radically impressive design and style of children’s guides that made in the fledgling Soviet condition involving 1918 and 1932. Masha Chlenova, PhD, is an artwork historian and curator based mostly in New York Town. She held curatorial positions at the Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Artwork, and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. She has posted widely on Soviet and European avant-garde, such as in the journal October, in edited books, and in exhibition catalogs posted by the Guggenheim Museum, MoMA, Tate Present day, Royal Academy of Arts, Centre Pompidou and Muzeum Sztuki. Amongst the exhibitions she structured in New York was Russian Revolution: A Contested Legacy, held at the International Print Center NY in 2017. Most recently she curated a key exhibition entitled Encounters: Russian and Soviet Art Across the Borders, 1910-1990 for the Muchmuseet in Oslo. Scheduled to open up in February 2023, this exhibition grew to become unthinkable subsequent Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Chlenova teaches artwork background at Eugene Lang Faculty of Liberal Arts at The New Faculty.
