Growing up in Anaheim, California in the late 1970s/early 80s, Milne’s encompassing earth of vintage cartoons, toys, candy, Disneyland, and joyous family holiday seasons fascinated and deeply affected her younger creativeness. I let my unconscious be my information, as the unconscious is the womb of creation. The stomach of these parts maintain my pleasure, my sorrow, my tenderness, and my grief. They maintain my anxiety, my loneliness, as perfectly as my love and my light-weight.” Including, “I offer you these new photos to my fellow human beings in hopes that they can join to the pure question inside of them selves. We are all connected by this lovely detail we contact humanity, and we have to have it now much more than ever.”
Every thing I Ever Was marks Milne’s fifth solo exhibit at CHG, subsequent 2017’s massively popular Once Upon A Quiet Kingdom, and opens on October 29th alongside a solo display from Nicoletta Ceccoli, titled Tackle With Treatment, in Gallery 3.
